Alexis Andress, DNP, Cosmetic Injector at LifeHope Healing Med Spa

More than a decade in aesthetics has made it evident that Alexis Andress, DNP wants to help clients look and feel their best. Her passion is for the patients, so much that she earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Emory University this year. What is the most challenging thing about your industry?

I am, and always will be, a lifelong learner, so one of the most challenging things is also the most interesting, and that’s the amount of continuing education that is required to be successful. I actively invest in furthering my education through webinars, conferences, networking and private trainings.

What is most important for patients to consider when it comes to their face?

Get the best facial injector you can by choosing someone whose personality, business style, skill, and artistic vision are in alignment with yours. Read their reviews, ask for their credentials and ask about their complications. But most of all, go with your gut feeling on them as a provider. It is highly recommended to do a consult with your provider to get to know them, and at LifeHope Healing Med Spa, that’s complimentary.

What can younger adults do to be proactive about their skin’s future?

Start coming in for a few procedures annually. Most of my younger adult patients are coming in at least semiannually for a neuromodulator such as Botox or Dysport. Plus, they are keeping their sun or environmental damage at bay by getting a series of IPL (Intense Pulse Light laser) to target vascular and pigmented lesions using phototherapy.

What’s the newest procedure you love?

PDO Threads use a complex sugar polydioxanone (PDO) to counteract the affects of aging collagen and elastin in the skin and rejuvenate the skin’s texture, wrinkles and volume. It may help soften smile lines, smooth neck lines, elevate cheekbone contours and more.

What is one of your favorite new products?

Revision Skincare’s Revox Line Relaxer featuring LineRelax Technology uses an advanced targeted serum to help transform your skin. According to the manufacturer’s clinical study, the appearance of expression lines was reduced by an average of 38%, meaning your Botox or Dysport will last longer.

“Nothing gives me more joy than seeing a happy patient leave our office,” says Andress. “Exceeding their expectations is my goal, every time.”
