I was excited to get a deep facial exfoliation thanks to my dermaplaning and enzyme peel at Dermani Medspa.
What’s great about dermaplaning is that it can be done on all skin types and is a great way to refresh the skin and renew its youthful appearance.
Dermaplaning is a method of exfoliation that consists of using a scalpel to gently scrape off the top layer of dull, dead skin cells in order to reveal a smoother, brighter complexion. It is pain-free and works to smooth fine lines and wrinkles, even skin tone, and reduce acne scarring and other facial blemishes.
During the procedure, there was a bright light on my face. As mentioned above, the method involves gentle scraping all over the face with a fine scalpel blade. Although it feels and sounds like scraping, it doesn’t hurt at all. But I did have to lay completely still because Carmen Bilal, L.E. was using a sharp scalpel blade to scrape off the dead skin cells. She followed up with a quick enzyme peel to further exfoliate my skin. It was painless but it does make your skin tingle/itch for about a minute.
Afterward, my skin felt very soft and smooth. I had some red patches, but they went away. I could definitely see and feel a big difference in my skin.
I loved this treatment! I highly recommend dermaplaning if you want a quick skin pick-me-up for your face. You will see immediate results. It only takes 30 to 40 minutes and you are out the door and back to work in no time. Your face will feel very smooth and radiate. The treatment also removes baby facial hairs. But if you’re wondering if it will make your hair thicker and grow back quicker, the answer is no, it will not.
The cost of the procedure is $55 if you are a Dermani Medspa member. For non-members and walk-ins, the cost is $110.
