Becky Costa, Family-First Entrepreneur

Entrepreneurship was a part of Becky Costa’s DNA from an early age. Having worked for her family’s business and later starting a company, Top Shop Stone, with her husband Jay Allen in 2015, this Roswell resident has known firsthand struggle and success since immigrating from Brazil in the early ’90s. Her commitment to excellence and, most importantly, family have been cornerstones in keeping her leveled in this new chapter of her life.
How did your family’s support play a role in your path to success?
I ask for help because I can’t do it by myself! They support me in any of my crazy ideas but also keep me grounded. We all support each other’s efforts, family, friends and my team at work.
What do you love most about being over 40?
I just arrived at 40, but I love all the experience I’m bringing into it! Knowing that I love what I do and who I get to do it with gets me up in the morning.
What do you think is the secret to aging gracefully?
Giving myself grace on the inside to be who I truly am and not over doing it on the outside.
How do you hope to leave your mark on the community?
Through our company, Top Shop Stone, I have supported Habitat for Humanity and donated countless countertops to schools and churches. We donate mostly to Be Rich at North Point Church, and we are supporters of the Bill Harrison Foundation, which helps all students find a career in the arts, architecture and design.
