Amy Wynne Rees, Creative Connector

Amy Rees is on a mission to help women feel seen, celebrated and connected. As creator of Personality Plates, this dedicated solopreneur and single mom built a hobby-turned-business on honoring friendship and connecting women to help them share their stories.
What inspired you to make your business a reality?
My love of pottery and my deep appreciation for the women in my life who have supported me through different stages and more importantly, difficult times. I wanted to create something that could honor those friendships and celebrate sisterhood. What began as a hobby—hand-building with clay—evolved into a business when I saw how much joy my designs brought to others.
Do you have a favorite quote or mantra that you live by?
One of my favorite quotes is “It’s never too late to become the person you might have been” by
Mary Ann Evans, known as George Eliot. I feel like she was talking to me when I saw it around the time I decided to start my own brand and business at 55.
I guess it is never too late.
How do you balance your roles as entrepreneur, connector and friend?
Balancing these roles comes naturally because it never feels like work. Promoting and sharing my brand feels like sharing a piece of myself and supporting others is a core part of who I am. Being a true friend means lifting each other up and I genuinely enjoy helping my friends make connections.
