What is the best part of being in your 60s?
Before my 60s life was simply too busy to enjoy certain things, but being in retirement now allows room for things like travel. Being in my 60s has also helped me learn to surrender to a higher power and to accept the outcomes of my actions when it is not what I expected or had hoped for. Worrying empties us of our strength, but meditation calms our suffering.

What is the key to staying young at heart?
Do what you love, be open to new ideas, try new things and laugh with your friends and family…with a dog close by.

What are you passionate about?
I love helping others feel loved by showing compassion, teaching fitness classes and yoga at places like Peach Out Power Yoga and celebrating animals and nature. For years, I participated with a group that served monthly meals to 150+ homeless Atlantans, worked with Habitat for Humanity and visited elderly residents in an assisted living facility. I sponsor charities close to my heart, such as the Alzheimer’s Association, FSHD, StrokeComeback, SavetheHorses, the Children’s Development Center, Yosemite Conversancy and Defenders of Wildlife.

What would you tell your 20-year-old self today?
Stay out of the sun!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Hopefully, in 10 years, I will be living in a small town giving back to my community through free yoga classes to those searching for a more peaceful existence while being present in the moment.
