Peach Out Power Yoga is open and offering private classes, regular classes in person, and online yoga sessions!
For the month of May, pre-registration for in-studio yoga classes will be required, and no walk-ins will be permitted. Classes will be limited to 12 people to start (increasing week-to-week), and there will be markers to ensure everyone is six feet apart.
Note all classes will be filmed and live-streamed on their private Facebook site to provide online options for those who choose to continue to practice virtually. If you feel comfortable coming to the studio and being filmed during practice, the crew definitely look forward to seeing you!
Private and semi-private yoga classes are available for those who want more one-on-one, in-studio instruction. Perfect for beginners, those who want to work on specific postures, or a small group of yogi friends who are more comfortable practicing with people they know.
***Pop-up Classes: In addition to the classes you’ll see on the May schedule, Peach Out plans to host several outdoor pop-up classes in the big parking lot facing the studio. These classes will be announced the night before and will have a maximum capacity of 20 people! Follow along with Peach Out on Instagram @peachoutpoweryoga for more updates.

Breathe Easy with Dry Salt Therapy
Fitness fanatics are often concerned with cardiovascular health but equally important can be your respiratory health! Lungs can’t keep up with your legs? Good luck running that 5K, completing that HITT workout, or even keeping up with the grandkids.

Craft, Create and Learn with the Aurora Theater Digital Series
Seeing the need for activities to entertain kids and adults alike, Lawrenceville’s Aurora Theater has created their Digital Series 2020, a collection of fun and engaging games, crafts, and stories that are presented daily on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.

The Escape Game—Take family game night to the next level with at-home experiences from The Escape Game! Families and friends can choose from the Escape from Iron Gate board game, The Escape Game: Unlocked digital adventure and TEG Field Trip educational journeys to challenge each other and solve puzzles.
No Equipment Workout at Home
The gyms may be closed for now, but that doesn’t mean you have to slide on your fitness routine. STAT Wellness has these 10 exercises you can do at home with no need for exercise equipment:
- Sumo Squats
- Plank Up Downs
- Squat Jumps
- Mountain Climbers
- Shoulder Taps
- Hip Thrusters

Dr. Fitness—To counteract the recent gym and fitness studio closures, Dr. Smith (aka “Dr. Fitness”) has launched a virtual wellness program, including live fitness classes and guided meditation sessions on IGTV. Of note, this offering is available to everyone (Cortland residents and non-residents).

Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA)—The museum is now offering online workshops, meet-ups, special events via Zoom, professional development and activities for adults and children ages 8 to 18 to help keep everyone learning and thinking creatively while at home. While some online programs are free, the museum asks participants to pay a nominal course fee to cover operational costs for some; scholarships are available here for those unable to pay the fee.
Strem HQ Tech Academy —An awesome line up of short term and ongoing tech classes online which include Java, Python, Adobe toolset, Minecraft, Roblox and much more. They are also offering free classes for children of healthcare professionals. All classes have live instruction, 1:5 small group ratios and peer-to-peer interaction in a fun collaborative way. Work From Home Back Stretches
Working from your couch sounds nice in theory, but a couple hours in and your back may have a different story to tell. Karen Patton with Peach Out Yoga brings four simple stretches to work your lower back.
Knee to chest stretch
- Start on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor.
- While straightening your left leg to the floor, use both hands to gently pull your right knee into your chest.
- Hold your right knee against your chest for 30–60 seconds, then switch to the other side.
Spinal Twist – you can come right from the knee to chest stretch to this pose.
- Lie on your back and set up the knee to chest stretch above with your right knee tucked into your chest.
- Allow your right knee to fall over to the left side of your body until it touches the floor, attempting to keep your right shoulder on the floor while your twist your head to the right.
- Fully extend your arms out to the sides, with your palms face-down on the floor, hold for 30-60 seconds, then switch to the other side.
Extended Child’s Pose
- Bring your knees out wide and allow your chest to melt towards the floor.
- Extend your arms forward to help lengthen the spine.
- Pull your hips down and back while allowing the weight in your hips to rest on your heels. Hold this pose for as long as it feels good.
- Lay on your back with your feet hip-distance apart. While inching your shoulders in, lift your hips. For extra support, place a block under your lower back.
- Hands can be clasped under your back or pushing into the floor. Hold for 30-60 seconds.
- When coming out of the pose, start at your shoulders and slowly roll out, lowering down one vertebrae at a time. Repeat 2-3 times.

Catalyst Coaching—Exercise is a key factor in mental health and well-being, so don’t let being stuck at home derail your fitness. There are lots of great bodyweight exercises you can do with little to NO equipment necessary. Find free quick videos on the Catalyst YouTube channel and even if you’ve never been active before, just 15 minutes a day will help you get (or stay) strong and #Quarantoned!
MiscFiT Online Training Academy—Created by NFL Owner Bryan Jean-Pierre, this 30-day online program contains a shopping list with affordable select pieces of equipment that will create the best gym given our circumstances in your home. The program also includes customized workouts including HIIT, weight training and plyometrics. The workouts are thoroughly explained with online videos including a voice-over to explain proper techniques. The program also includes a meal prep guidance sheet.
