With COVID-19 restrictions in place, a healthy and safe Fourth of July in Atlanta looks a little different this year. Check out these ideas for drive-in movies, ready-made backyard barbecues, fireworks and more.

Your Fourth of July Fitness Fix: Missing your favorite Fourth of July race? Bert’s Big Adventure is hosting the Your Space Virtual Race. Race sign-up is as simple as choosing your distance and making a donation. All proceeds from the event will help power Bert’s Big Adventure’s mission to send children with terminal illnesses on all-expenses-paid trips to Disney World. Drive-In Fun and Fireworks: Grab family and friends for drive-in movies at the Plaza Theatre and The Gallery at the South DeKalb Mall. Check out for times and movie showings for the weekend. The DeKalb County Census will be hosting a special showing on July 3 with a fireworks display following. Only the first 200 cars and 50 walk-ups can be accommodated.

Woodstock Wonder: Although Woodstock’s Freedom Run, parade and festival have all been canceled, city officials still plan to host a fireworks display on the city square. With ample space for social distancing, grab a blanket and find your perfect spot six-feet from your neighbor! The show begins at dusk.
