Buffie Jubbard 2021 Over 40

As a personal stylist, 52-year-old Buffie Jubard helps women love themselves a little more with each look in the mirror. The mom of two Isn’t just committed to making her clients look and feel better but her community too, crafting chemo care packages for those going through breast cancer treatment.

What impact do you hope to leave on the world?

While it’s hard to truly impact the world, I hope that I’ve had a positive influence on those who I engage with as they pursue their own journey. It takes a community to have a larger impact, and the more we share with each other, the more that vision can be realized.

What do you think is the secret to aging gracefully?

Sunscreen, good sleep and an occasional crafted cocktail.

What is your favorite way to give back to your community?

I have been working to bring awareness to and raise money for cancer research for many years. I started asking for donations to make chemo care packages that I share with women when they go in for treatment. Through my love of fashion and a desire to bring women together in the community, I started the Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) fashion show two years ago. The models are all breast cancer survivors. I use donations from the show to create the care packages and donate them to the Atlanta Cancer Care and TurningPoint Breast Cancer Rehabilitation.

What inspired you to do this particular kind of charity work?

Creating joy for others is what I love to do. When my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer one of her best moments was a meeting she went to with other women in treatment. She was given a goodie bag that was filled with all kinds of stuff. I just remember how much that meant to her. It wasn’t about the stuff but the fact that someone took the time to put this package together. I wanted to recreate that experience for other women but take them to the treatment centers because the women typically spend the entire day there. The fashion show came to be through my love for fashion and my desire to bring women together, raise awareness for breast health and celebrate every survivor I could.

What makes you laugh?

Life. It’s too funny to not laugh at.
