Brittany Rives: Driving Inclusivity on the Green

For Brittany Rives, golf isn’t just a game—it’s a community. As the Assistant General Manager at Iron Horse Golf Club, she’s made it her mission to create an environment where women feel empowered and included in a sport that’s long been dominated by men. Through thoughtful programming, accessible instruction and a focus on fostering connection, Rives is redefining what it means to belong on the green.

What inspired you to make such a male-dominated sport more inclusive for women?

I want every member to feel like they’re part of a community with opportunities for private instruction, group clinics for all skill levels and ages and full access to our golf facilities so they can grow their love and passion for the game. I believe making golf more inclusive is about creating opportunities, creating new traditions and showing that golf is a sport for everyone, no matter who you are.

What experiences shaped your passion for golf and event planning?

My journey into the golf industry began 15 years ago when I started as a beverage cart attendant. I quickly developed a rapport with the members, which often led to me getting in trouble for chatting too much. But when the Membership and Events Director position opened up, the GM saw my potential and my love for connecting with members. He offered me the role, sparking my true passion for the industry. I truly love working with people, and I cherish constantly meeting new faces.

What’s the best advice you’ve been given?

When you approach life with positivity, you’re more open to new experiences and ideas. You’re more likely to take risks, learn from mistakes and grow in the process. It’s also contagious—your attitude can inspire and uplift others. The beauty of positivity is that it’s always within your control. When you choose positivity, you’re choosing to shape your life with a mindset that encourages progress and personal growth.

What advice do you have for women looking to break into male-dominated industries?

Be bold, believe in your worth and never underestimate the power of building a strong network. It’s important to have confidence in your abilities and understand that your perspective brings value. Don’t be afraid to speak up—your voice matters.
