Anna Teal, The Selfless Rebuilder
Anna Teal has built a life defined by courage, compassion and purpose. After years of caregiving, she founded Teal Marketing and Aphasia Readers, channels through which she empowers others and champions the underserved. With faith as her anchor and her Cherokee County community as her lifeline, Anna transforms challenges into opportunities to serve, inspiring those around her with resilience, creativity and unwavering determination.
How did you move from survival mode as a caregiver to thriving as an entrepreneur?
Being a caregiver over an extended period of time, you lose parts of yourself. I had to be intentional about finding myself again. Praying and seeking guidance, and rebuilding myself from my own brokenness. Through that lens, I realized what I was made of and what I’m capable of. This gave me the confidence to face anything on my entrepreneurship journey.
Who represents your idea of aging gracefully?
Someone who I’ve always thought aged incredibly gracefully is my grandmother, whom I affectionately call “Freebird.” Even at 92, she walks and exercises daily. Her vitality shines through in everything she does, making her naturally beautiful and youthful.
For women who feel like they have to “do it all” alone, what would you say about the importance of leaning on community?
As a caregiver for many years who had to do a lot alone and as someone who knows the gut-wrenching sting of loneliness all too well, my Cherokee County community saved my life. Having friends who supported me, believed in me and encouraged me daily brought fresh light to a very dark season of my life. I very much cherish the relationships and friendships I’ve been blessed to build in my community.
