When most people hear filler they think of ladies and their lips, but that is only a small part of what filler can do. More and more men are choosing to have treatments with fillers to regain their youthful fullness.
At the age of 20, our body’s production of collagen begins to slow. In order to restore the volume loss, both men and women often turn to fillers. Men can benefit from having fillers injected into lines, wrinkles, nasolabial folds, cheeks, jawlines, and even lips to restore lost volume and diminish the signs the aging or to create a more masculine appearance by strengthening those features.
It is important to make sure your injector is experienced in injecting men, as there are many differences between men and women that must be considered to ensure a positive outcome. Men have jawlines and chins that are more prominent, straighter noses, with a wider and higher forehead. Men also have more muscle mass and subcutaneous tissue but lower levels of adipose tissue, so dosing and placement is very different than when women are treated.
As filler and Botox become more familiar to men and they become more knowledgeable about what it can do for them and the myths are dispelled, the number of men utilizing these treatments to look and feel like their best self will continue to increase.
