Rhiannon Tzimenatos 2020 Over 40 & Fabulous Top 10 Winner

Rhiannon Tzimenatos is a survivor. At 41, she has gone through both a toxic marriage and an addiction to alcohol. Rather than hiding her struggles, this amazing mother wears them proudly to show others what it is possible to overcome.

What impact do you hope to leave on the world? I want to be known as the woman that helped to make sobriety acceptable in Atlanta. There are so many people struggling with alcohol and they are afraid to say anything about it for fear of judgement and fear that their life will not be as fun. I want to normalize and glamorize sobriety.

What person, thing, or event has influenced your life most? Leaving an unhealthy marriage and beating a secret “addiction” to alcohol on my own. I found out who I really was during those dark days and I found out what I was capable of. Had those horrible events not taken place, I absolutely wouldn’t be where I am today. I am thankful for my struggles.

What is your favorite way to give back to your community? I help with the Doctors Against Hunger Charity Golf Tournament benefiting the Atlanta Community Food Bank and I am on the board to start up a recovery outreach organization in Canton, Georgia, where I live. I want to help people beat addiction and see someone being successful sans booze, so I run a sobriety group on Facebook and Instagram called Purposely Sober.

Who are the experts/professionals who help you be your best self? I am my best because of my chiropractor fiancé, Dan Turner, at DT Chiropractic. I also credit Josh Keenum and my gym at Onelife in Holly Springs. My hairdresser, Guillermo Silva, at Dyer & Posta Salon in Kennesaw is amazing and for my skincare I go to Judith McKernan at A New You in Woodstock and Mary Mobley at OVME in East Cobb.

What is your favorite way to work out? D A N C I N G and lifting weights! Dancing is my passion. I have my certification to teach Zumba, it was a bucket list item for me. I love all things dance-related like going to Les Mills classes and doing Sh’Bam and Body Jam. And I love to build muscle and I love having a toned, strong body at 41.

What inspires you to get up every morning? My children. I have a 21-year-old, gorgeous and brilliant daughter named Madelyn and I have a sweet, athletic, hard-working son named Adam. Plus, I have 3 bonus sons named Elijah, Jonah and Sean. I bust my butt daily for them. I am putting my kids through college on my own. That is something I pride myself on. I want them to be proud of their mom.
