What is the Opus Plasma Treatment?

Opus Plasma is an innovative, first-of-its-kind fractional plasma skin resurfacing treatment. Plasma is created by combining radio frequency and atmospheric pressure, resulting in tiny micro-injuries, leaving the surrounding tissue undamaged. The body’s natural healing process repairs the controlled micro-injuries; the result is the formation of new collagen and elastin, resulting in a tighter, brighter, more youthful appearance.

Unlike a laser that uses light energy, Opus Plasma uses electrical plasma energy that does not target a specific chromophore, making this procedure ideal for treating a variety of challenges in the skin on both lighter and darker skin types.

How long does the treatment take?

To ensure your comfort during treatment, your provider will apply a topical numbing ointment which will have to sit on the skin for 30 to 45 minutes prior to the procedure. The treatment itself takes approximately 30 minutes.

What can I expect after treatment?

Immediately following treatment, a patient might feel like they have a slight sunburn. Within 24 to 48 hours, they may experience slight swelling (patient may notice while others may not). However, patients are able to apply makeup at this point in time. On days 4 and 5, the skin appears brighter and healthier. Downtime associated with Opus Plasm by Alma Lasers is minimal, and results are experienced following the first treatment with optimum results following a series of 3 to 4 treatments, depending on a patient’s goals and initial skin condition.
