Natalia Korop, Fearless Changemaker and Humanitarian Leader

Natalia Korop

What Natalia Korop may lack in stature, she more than makes up for in courage. From immigrating from Ukraine in the ’90s to recently trading city life for a family farm and hosting wellness retreats for women, the mom of two embraces every opportunity and adventure with heart and purpose. Her boldness extends beyond personal growth—through unwavering self-care, she empowers refugees, children, women and everyone she encounters to live their best lives.

What do you love most about being over 40?
Turning 40 was like stepping into a whole new chapter for me. I’ve learned to trust my instincts more and to embrace my experiences, both good and bad. I’ve found that I appreciate the little things more—whether it’s a quiet moment in the fields or a hearty laugh with my family. There’s a richness to life at this age that I really cherish. I feel like I’m in a place where I can make a real impact, both in my career and in my community, and that’s something I truly love.

What inspired you to turn your farm into a retreat space?
I’ve always loved the idea of a peaceful place where women can come together and recharge. The stunning views of our farm with 200-plus-year-old oak trees on our pastures just felt like the perfect spot for that! I wanted to create a sanctuary where everyone could explore their inner strength and connect with each other. I really hope that when women leave our retreats, they feel empowered, inspired and ready to take on whatever life throws their way!

What is your favorite way to give back?
One of my favorite ways to give back is through ongoing support for children in need, especially those affected by conflict. I’ll never forget the kindness of Canadians who visited my school in communist Ukraine in 1993. My husband and I have prioritized helping children through organizations like the Fragile Kids Foundation, Alex’s Lemonade Stand, Breakthrough T1D and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. In 2022, I volunteered at the Help Ukraine Center in Poland, sorting medical supplies for war victims and now work as an ambassador for Uniting For Ukrainian Kids to help support children of fallen soldiers.

What do you think is the secret to aging gracefully?
The secret to aging gracefully lies in a combination of self-acceptance, maintaining a positive attitude and taking care daily of both physical and mental well-being. Accepting change with a grateful attitude and cultivating meaningful relationships will certainly contribute to a fulfilling and graceful aging process.
