In 2019, I became fabulous and 50! At the start of this chapter, I began mentoring an 8th grader at the Tuskegee Airmen Global Academy and I contributed to
Tomorrow Belongs to Her, a collection of beautiful illustrations and inspiring stories by Dr. Veronique Diriker. I write the words for Makeda, a girl living with lupus, bringing her story to life by sharing my personal experiences with lupus. The key to living my best self is managing my diet, exercising and the love of family and friends.
