Marietta Named ‘Most Generous City in the US’ by GoFundMe Year in Help
The most wonderful time of the year is here! Whether you’re getting in that last-minute shopping, prepping for grand feasts or making sure your holiday decor is perfect, one component ties it all together—the joy of giving.
In the spirit of the season, GoFundMe, the crowdfunding platform that allows people to raise money for challenging circumstances and celebrations alike, has released its 2022 Year in Help report.
The report recaps this year’s most popular fundraising campaigns and celebrates the 28 million donors and the 25 billion donated to individuals and nonprofits! Of those 28 million donors, one US city stood apart from the crowd as having the most generous neighbors—our very own Marietta. Named this year’s most generous city, the Atlanta suburb surpassed prominent cities such as Miami and Minneapolis, with Cobb County residents making the most donations per capita. Alpharetta also scored a spot on the Top 10 list coming in at number seven.
