Life House AtlantaLife House Atlanta was founded in 2018 with the mission of supporting the 16.8 million people in the US today who care for a child with a disability or with a complex medical condition. To highlight the need for their nonprofit—which provides specialized care for children so caregivers can take a much-needed break—Life House will host the Georgia premiere of the documentary “Unseen: How We’re Failing Parent Caregivers and Why It Matters,” on October 2. Learn more about caregiving through the lives of the Ronne family and how you can be a catalyst for change at the premiere.

22nd Annual Merrick’s Walk

Merricks Walk Group shotBring the stigma around eating disorders out of the shadows by participating in the 22nd Annual Merrick’s Walk on October 16. The 2.7-mile walk helps support EDIN (EDucation and INsight on Eating Disorder), an organization focused on being a local resource for those wanting to learn more about eating disorders, those seeking help and those who provide eating disorders treatment and care.

Ava Smith

Ava SmithAva Smith is the new Teen Miss Georgia Earth! A 14-year-old freshman at Roswell High School, Ava took home the crown in June and will represent Georgia in the national Miss Earth USA contest in Orlando in January. An honors student, volleyball player and musician, Ava is a recipient of the Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award and an active member in her family’s volunteer group, Little Helpers. Ava is proud to support Miss Earth USA’s mission of environmental preservation while empowering female activists.
