Heather Pennington
The CEO of Marketing and Business Consulting firm iSpeak Business at 48, Heather Pennington, is the true definition of fabulous inside and out. She is known in her community as a shining example of a servant leader. Through and through, Pennington is a trailblazer who selflessly loves to give back through Leading Next Generation, an organization she founded to support the homeless community across the metro Atlanta and Cobb areas by providing them with winter care kits.
What is the biggest obstacle you’ve overcome?
The biggest obstacle I’ve had to face is being self- employed. Entrepreneurship is not for the faint of heart but comes with the perks of autonomy and flexibility. It has helped me to find value in my quality of life versus focusing on obtaining more things.
What piece of advice would you give to people in their 20s and 30s?
Time goes by fast, and we are not guaranteed tomorrow, so try the things you want before it’s too late. Even if things don’t work out, you can learn from your mistakes, and it will never really be a failure. After all, life is about the journey, not the destination!
What is your favorite way to help others?
I really enjoy helping the homeless through my nonprofit, Leading Next Generation. It’s extremely fulfilling to see others in the community helping to donate clothes, snacks, blankets and more. Our team aims to provide bags with hand sanitizer, reading glasses, hygiene items and food.
