Dewayne Crowder

Dewayne Crowder, 43, is the Founder and Executive Director of A Vision 4 Hope, a nonprofit organization providing a comprehensive safe haven for seniors, youth and members of the LGBTQ community. He is known in his community not only as an activist and leader with a broad reach but also as a powerful advocate for so many underserved people. Crowder takes pride in using his partnerships with various healthcare organizations and his commitment to helping the homeless population to bring awareness to the needs of many.

What impact do you hope to leave on the world?

I hope to leave every individual that I meet with happiness, positivity and hope. I strive to make a positive impact on the world, furthering social justice and health disparities, as well as empowering others to accept themselves as they are.

How do you support and engage your community?

I love to invest in community initiatives by creating equitable opportunities. I recognize that there are many successful organizations already doing the important work of community development. So, I aim to explore opportunities that build relationships with organizations and support their work in the community. I am grateful to the inspiring individuals, leaders and organizations that enable me to further my commitment to community development. Through this work, I’m able to realize my purpose of helping my community focus on what matters most.
