Day 8 of Healthy, Beautiful skin: Juvederm® fillers with Dr. Lisa DiFrancesco

Fillers are a great option for someone wanting to get rid of fine lines and wrinkles without having to go under the knife. Dr. Lisa DiFrancesco explained to me that Juvederm® products are great because they come in a variety of consistency so the doctor can essentially make a custom plan for each patient for different areas. For me, I wanted to add volume to my upper cheeks and decrease fine vertical lines above my mouth. I was a little nervous before, but only because I’ve never had any type of procedure before. I didn’t really know what to expect regarding results and I didn’t want to look too “done.”
Dr. Lisa DiFrancesco explained everything before the treatment and as she injected the fillers, she continued to explain which Juvaderm® product she was using (Voluma XC for my cheeks versus Volbella for my lips). There was no pain in the cheeks at all because numbing cream was applied 30 minutes before the treatment started. The lips were more sensitive but it just felt like a quick pinch. Nothing too bad at all. It made a big difference in the fine lines above my lips where my lipstick would often bleed. My cheeks looked higher and more youthful instantly. I would recommend having the treatment about two weeks before a big event because I did have some slight bruising afterward.
