What do attendees need to know before class starts?
If this is your first time at Stability, arrive at least five minutes before class starts to fill out paperwork. Be sure to wear comfortable workout clothes and socks. Sticky socks are highly recommended because tennis shoes are not worn during class.
How would you describe this workout? How does it compare to similar classes you’ve taken?
Even though this workout is a Level 1, you are still being challenged the whole time by using a machine called a reformer. The best thing about using this machine is that you get to stretch and work on your flexibility while simultaneously toning your muscles. This was my first time on a reformer and I really enjoyed learning all the different workouts that are possible with just one machine. Jenna helped me adjust my reformer after each exercise to ensure I was able to keep up with the rest of the group!
What muscle groups did this class work the most? Was it a great workout for your abs, butt, arms, etc.?
The major benefits of this class are building your strength, flexibility, coordination, and balance for the full 55 minutes. You have to use core muscle groups to accomplish the workout and focus on your breathing.
Did the instructor do anything to make the class extra special?
Jenna took the time to go over all the positions and moves with me throughout the class. She taught me how to position myself as well as how to adjust and utilize the reformer to get the best out of each movement. The ambiance of the studio is a very relaxing, family vibe, which made me feel right at home. Many of the people in my class were raving about how Stability has helped them greatly improve their quality of life by relieving chronic pain, healing old injuries and more.
How did you feel before, during, and after the workout?
During the class, I was educated, challenged, and motivated. Jenna made sure the exercises accomplished a full-body workout—we are talking core (lots of crunches), legs (lots of using your legs to push you up and down on the reformer), arms (think bicep and tricep curls using your body weight) and much more. When I left, I felt very stretched, toned and loose. I am so thankful that I was able to do an introduction class at Stability because now I think I’m hooked on Pilates!
What was the most enjoyable part of the workout?
My favorite part about the Level 1 class was the use of the reformer. It’s actually really fun using your legs to push you up and down and learning about all of the different mechanisms the reformer has to offer.
Any other feedback you’d like to give about the Group Reformer Level 1 workout?
