Brandon Chubb: Reinventing Recovery
Six knee surgeries and two ACL tears later, NFL linebacker Brandon Chubb hung up his helmet and took on a new mission: creating an inclusive, elevated, community-driven space where people can access the recovery therapies once reserved for pro athletes. Enter Do Not Disturb, an all-in-one wellness studio offering not just saunas and cold plunges but other science-backed treatments like Hyperice, red light therapy, IV drips, massage and stretch therapy. His next goal? Make Do Not Disturb ubiquitous with wellness in the mind of the Atlanta community.
How has your football career changed the way you run your business?
Football taught me how to trust the process and control the controllables. That mindset carries into business, where success depends on showing up, staying disciplined and being willing to do any job. It’s a team effort, so ego takes a back seat. No one is bigger than the program. Accountability, consistency and high standards drive results, especially in a customer-focused space.
Why is recovery a necessity, not a luxury? How can busy professionals realistically build it into their schedule?
The definition of wellness is changing. It’s no longer just about how I look or how many abs I have, it’s about how I feel, how I show up for myself and how I perform. Having a consistent, intentional routine matters. A place like Do Not Disturb makes that feasible by bringing wellness under one roof so you can reset in as little as 30 minutes or stay longer if needed.
How do you decide which wellness modalities are worth investing in and which trends to ignore?
I stay focused on what’s proven. My background as a professional athlete shaped that. Everything we offer is something I’ve used myself and know works, from contrast therapy and IV therapy, stretching, massage and red light. I’m a student of the game, just like I was in football. These are science-backed, performance-driven tools, not gimmicks. That foundation keeps the business sustainable, even as trends come and go.
